Durashield
Under Durashield Technology, each Amkette CD/DVD in the process of manufacturing is coated with a micro thin protective layer over organic dye on the recordable surface. The physical properties of this micro thin layer allows laser beam to permeate without obstruction but at the same time it resists the effect of heat, humidity and sunlight which are the characteristics of Indian climatic conditions.
This protective coating of Durashield gives a shelf life of 5 to 10 years for an unrecorded CD/DVD and upto 100 years for a burnt CD-R or DVD-R.
Thus Durashield Technology makes Amkette optical storage media much more reliable than many others.
Super RFD
Indian climate is the climate of extremes with high humidity levels in several geographical areas. These rugged climatic conditions have an adverse effect on the normal floppy diskettes increasing the risk of data loss.
Keeping the above in mind Amkette launched RFD Floppy Diskettes in India:
RFD = Resists Fungi & Dust
RFD is the name of the Amkette diskettes incorporating a super binder media. This special media can resist fungi and dust better than the other diskettes with normal media.
Is RFD really effective?
Yes, RFD diskettes are really effective against dust and fungus. This was ascertained by the following experiment which was conducted on RFD and other Normal media. RFD Media anti-fungus characteristics
A sample of RFD media & normal media is placed in a chalet with fungi suspension and is cultured upto 28 days. Growth of fungi is observed
Fungi used was a mixture of
a) Aspergillus niger IFO 6341
b) Penicillium citrium IFO 6352
c) Rhizopus oryzae FERM S-7
d) Cladosporium cladosporioides IFO 6348
e) Chaetomium globosum ATOC 6205
Culturing condition
28 +/- 20C 97% R.H.
RESULTS OF THE EXPERIMENT
RFD Media
No fungus growth was observed on the diskette media after 14 days and 28 days.
Normal media
No fungus growth was observed after 14 days but fungus growth was observed in more than 1/3 of the diskette area after 28 days of culturing.
MHV Inks
Amkette e-cartridges and e-fills use Microfine High Viscosity MHV Inks which ensure the complete safety of cartridges / printers. The MHV inks used are formulated to ensure that print quality exceeds OEM standards on a sustained basis and the life of the cartridge is preserved. This is due to precisely controlled pH, particle size and viscosity, which promise a finished output and keep the print head lubricated.
